Five libraries are to extend their opening hours, including on Saturdays.

Culter, Dyce, Mastrick, Tillydrone and Torry will have an interim extension on opening hours at the following libraries from 1st April 2024.

At the age of 27 I have actually completed almost the entire library instead of university. So I got my education in the library and for free. One of our celebrity supporters, the writer and comedian David Walliams, is now backing the campaign to Save Aberdeen Libraries , after he was approached by ten year old campaign supporter Charlotte Jolly.

In a shock move, six of Aberdeen's libraries were closed with just weeks notice in the spring, without even a consultation. However, following legal advice, the campaign forced the local council into a U-turn, with a consultation now taking place.
