Thousands of trips have taken place on the new electric bikes in Aberdeen since they started in the city a week ago. π² ποΈ ποΈ ποΈ
People have taken more than 5,000 rides on the brightly-coloured Voi ebikes since 21 May 2026 in the city centre, averaging 7.4 trips per bike per day.
The area the ebikes is available in is due to be expanded towards the end of next week, adding another 100 bikes to the existing fleet of 100 bikes.

The new electric bikes for Aberdeen are due to start arriving in the city next week as pavements are being painted for parking this week in preparation.
Parking bays are to be created in some places with more restricted spaces to ensure the Voi ebikes are returned safely to a designated area.

Funds to demolish the former Grampian Police headquarters were approved today at a Finance and Resources Committee meeting.
The demolition of the building, which was constructed in 1975, is part of a redevelopment of the Queen Street area included in the Councilβs City Centre and Beach Masterplan to transform Aberdeen.
The redevelopment of Queen Street includes the creation of a new urban park at its heart which will be developed through public engagement.
