The cadets and staff of 2478 would like to thank the Air Cadet Charity for the recent digital upgrades they have funded.
We now have a modern flight sim including VR for cadets to use, the squadron has been without a flight sim for a couple years so it is great to finally have one back. The flight sim allows cadets to complete Blue PTT training or just practice their skills and compete with other cadets.
Once cadets have completed Blue PTT and been for either an Air Experience Flight or Gliding Induction Flight they are then awarded the Blue Wings badge.
We have also been able to purchase 15 Chromebooks to allow cadet to complete online training such as classification and the Bronze IDEA Award

Rosie Jarman was a cadet at 2478 before she sadly passed away in 2022. She very much enjoyed the outdoors and completed her Bronze DofE award in her time at 2478.
Her family are walking the Beacons Way in Spring / Summer 2026 in her memory and to raise money for Dreams & Wishes. If you would like to donate the details are in the link below:

On Sunday 14 cadets from 2478 helped out at Abergavenny Music Festival 2026. The cadets were tasked with jobs such as wristbands, litter picking and helping move music equipment as well as a little but of recruitment.
Thank you to the Abergavenny Round Table for inviting and donating to the squadron to help us continue to purchase new equipment

Last night WO Skinner was delighted to promote two of our cadets
Sgt Horry > FS Horry
Cpl Philips > Sgt Philips
Both have shown dedication to the squadron, attending many events and gaining qualifications to allow them to teach and instruct our younger and newer cadets.
