561 (Ardwyn, Aberystwyth & District) Sqn. ATC

Recently, cadets took part in Blue Leadership, putting their newly developed skills into practice. They engaged in initiative exercises designed to build teamwork, confidence, and leadership ability.

A big thank you to Adrian of the Mid Wales Memorial Project for taking the time to speak to cadets and staff tonight about his work in raising awareness about our local history and the sacrifices made.

Had a fantastic evening talking about the Memorial Project at 561 (Ardwyn, Aberystwyth & District) Sqn. Air cadets.

They all took an interest and asked some very good questions.

So glad I get a chance to educate the younger generations on the sacrifices made all those years ago.

This week cadets took part in Air Recognition. Do you Recognise Any?

Tonight cadets have been getting creative and started painting a space marine each - these will be judged and go towards their interflight competition scores as. You might spot one of the more Warhammer obsessed staff members sneaking in to "supervise" with their paintbrush in hand.

Modelling together is a great way to let the cadets talk and interact together, share tips and encourage each other over the winter months.

The models have been very kindly donated by local model shop Albatross Toys & Models

Congratulations to the cadets who achieved their Bronze Cyber Course and thanks to Flt Lt Butler for running it!

The Sqn was invited to an exclusive pre-view of the Guinness World Record Breaking layout at the Vale of Rheidol Railway on Friday evening. The team behind the layout explained the basics of building and controlling such a large model using a digital network before letting the cadets stress test the system driving trains on the West Coast Mainline past Watford Junction and Milton Keynes. One cadet was witnessed sneaking back into the que at least 4 times, driving a scale 3 miles. The cadets also learnt about some of their OC's hobbies after discovering several of the trains rolling past them belong to him!
