Engraved necklace found on the Clumps - please share and help reunite it with its owner.

Can you help us reunite this necklace with its owner?

Found on the Clumps, it has an engraving on the back so we think it might be quite special to someone. Could you share this post to see if we can find who it belongs to? Thank you!

Covid-19 update from Earth Trust. Please follow the link to read the full message from CEO Jayne Manley.

🚩Covid-19 update from Earth Trust:

We’ve been keeping a close eye on government guidelines for Covid-19, and following the updates this week we’ve made a few changes to the way we’re working and the service we are able to offer you.

We are currently operating with a skeleton staff based at the Earth Trust Centre, with other staff working from their homes. We plan to continue to support all our natural green spaces for as long as possible in this way.

Volunteers are vital to Earth Trust but in light of this week’s government recommendations we’ve also made the decision to suspend all of our volunteering groups, continuing only with roles which can be done in isolation. This is a challenging time for all of us and we need to respond to daily guidance whilst making sure we’re operating as normally as possible and supporting staff and volunteers to stay safe.

Event planning is on hold but the good news is that our green spaces are still open! Spending time in nature can be so beneficial for our well-being and is still possible even with social distancing.

***LAMBING FESTIVAL POSTPONED***

We’re sorry to announce that the 2020 Lambing Festival has been postponed. Up until this point we have been following Government guidance around Covid-19 and putting extra measures in place to continue with this popular and loved event. However, given the number of staff and volunteers needed to provide a safe experience for visitors and the additional measures needed under these extenuating circumstances, it’s no longer possible for us to hold such a large event. We’re inevitably disappointed but the safety of our volunteers, staff and visitors has to come first. Full statement: https://earthtrust.org.uk/news/lambing-festival-postponed/

Explore the past and uncover the history of the Wittenham Clumps this winter. There's plenty of opportunities to get involved with the dig at the Earth Trust Centre: site tours, Find Lab sessions and a community dig. Head to the website to find out more and book your place.

We’re excited to be teaming up with DigVentures once again, as we embark on 5 months of exciting excavations ahead of our Gateway project. This will enable us to discover more about the fascinating history of our landscape, and how people in the past lived. Keep an eye out for the ways in which you can get involved through a series of events from November to March. 🚩 Earth Trust has received enquires about viewing the demolition of the last three cooling towers at Didcot A Power Station on Sunday 18th August 🚩

RWE are actively discouraging people from viewing the demolition and Earth Trust supports their decision. However, we recognise that some people will decide to watch it from the Wittenham Clumps. Earth Trust are putting in place emergency procedures to manage this. In order to protect this special green space, and limit the impact on our neighbours and access routes, please read the information on our website: https://earthtrust.org.uk/news/didcot-power-station-demolition-18-august/
