Relationships with carers, teachers and professionals must be built slowly, with patience and consistency. Building trust is key to supporting a child in care. Everyone from key workers to home managers often use all their skills and resources to make children feel safe to trust.

Entering care can interrupt schools, hobbies, routines and milestone moments.
