📢 Haslingden Old Road – Cycle and Pedestrian Access

I have been contacted by residents regarding the temporary closure of the cycle and pedestrian access at the landslip on Haslingden Old Road.

The access has been removed to allow the works to progress safely, including completion of the retaining wall, road resurfacing and other finishing works.

I will continue to keep residents updated as the work progresses.

📍 Update on the Former Printers Pub, Oswaldtwistle

A quick update for residents regarding the former Printers Pub.

The demolition works have currently been paused while the Council works through some outstanding planning matters.

I appreciate that residents will be keen to know when the works are expected to resume.

I will continue to monitor the situation and share any further updates as soon as I receive them.

Five years ago today, Sir David Amess was murdered while doing what he had done for almost 40 years: serving the people who elected him.

He never stopped showing up for them. On the day his life was taken, he was there once again, listening and helping, just as he always had.

Today we remember a much-loved colleague and friend. Above all, our thoughts are with his wife and children, who carry his loss every day.
