Today, cadets from Burnley, Pendle and Hyndburn came together for a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award practice walk. Setting off from Worsthorne, they headed towards Cant Clough and Hurstwood Reservoirs, making the most of a beautiful day for some vital navigation training ahead of their Bronze expedition later in June.

Great effort from everyone involved, with teamwork, resilience and map-reading skills all put to the test in

Tonight, our Hyndburn cadets had the privilege of welcoming Neil, who introduced them to his fantastic Dementia Bee initiative.

The cadets took part in an engaging and immersive session, gaining a powerful insight into what it can be like to live with dementia. They also explored a range of techniques to support those affected, including methods of distraction and calming through memory-based and sensory products.

A truly valuable and thought-provoking experience for everyone involved. Thank you, Neil, for such an impactful session.

A fantastic effort from our Hyndburn and Burnley Cadets, alongside their dedicated leaders, at the Accrington Stanley Hub for the Zack Kerr Charity Football Match ⚽👏

Our cadets were busy throughout the day—selling raffle tickets, collecting donations, running the tombola stall, and helping children enjoy the police dress-up gear. Their enthusiasm and teamwork truly made a difference.

We’re incredibly proud to share that an amazing £17,000 was raised, with all proceeds going to the North West Ambulance Service 🚑💙

A brilliant day filled with community spirit, generosity, and fun—well done to everyone involved!

Another brilliant evening for Hyndburn Cadets as we were joined by PC Mark Lockyer and the amazing dogs Chief and Viper from the Dog Unit 🐶👮‍♂️
Cadets had the chance to learn all about how police dogs are trained, what it takes to become a dog handler, and what happens to the dogs when they retire from service. There were lots of great questions asked and plenty of interest from our cadets!
We were also treated to a fantastic demonstration from both dogs, showing their skills and just how valuable they are in policing. To finish the session, cadets were given a look around the specialist vehicle the dogs travel in while out on duty.
A huge thank you to the Dog Unit for taking the time to visit us and give such an interesting and memorable session! 🐾🚓

Another fantastic evening at Hyndburn Cadets tonight! 🔐💻
Our cadets took part in an exciting Escape Room challenge delivered by Dave from the Cyber Security Team, where they had to work together to crack codes, solve puzzles, and race against the clock to escape! ⏰🧩
Teamwork, problem-solving, and plenty of quick thinking were needed, with everyone fully getting involved and rising to the challenge.
A fun-filled night was had by all, with lots of laughs along the way! Well done to everyone who took part 👏

Tonight, our Hyndburn cadets took part in a fun and engaging teamwork session!

Working in groups, they were challenged to design and create an outfit based on a chosen theme. Each team then selected a model to showcase their creation on the catwalk, along with a presenter to introduce the outfit.

The cadets showed fantastic creativity—not only in their outfit designs but also in choosing music to accompany their catwalk performances. Everyone played an important role, and it was great to see such teamwork, enthusiasm, and confidence on display.

A brilliant evening was had by all!

Cadets from across the eastern part of the county gathered in Downham on Sunday for a Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) practice walk. Our cadets are fortunate to take part in this fantastic scheme, which challenges them to develop resilience, determination, and confidence.

Supported by our dedicated volunteer leaders, the group enjoyed exploring the beautiful countryside while building and refining their navigation skills.

A fantastic effort from our Hyndburn and Burnley Cadets this week 🌿
The cadets were out in Great Harwood Memorial Park working alongside the amazing volunteers from the Friends of Great Harwood Memorial Park, helping to plant new Azaleas ready for Spring. 🌸
It was a great hands-on session, giving cadets the chance to get involved in the local community, learn a bit about the work that goes into maintaining our green spaces, and make a real difference to an area that so many people enjoy.
There was plenty of teamwork, muddy hands, and a real sense of pride seeing the park starting to brighten up. We’re looking forward to going back and seeing everything in full bloom!
A big thank you to the Friends group for having us – we really appreciate everything you do for the park. 👏
