Police Cadets Visit Manchester Airportโs AeroZone โ๏ธ
Today, Police Cadets from Burnley, Pendle and Hyndburn were invited to visit the AeroZone at Manchester Airport.
Our Lancashire cadets crossed county borders to enjoy an exciting and educational visit, learning all about the structure and management of Manchester Airport and the many career opportunities available there.
The cadets enjoyed a tour of the newly refurbished Terminal 2 before meeting two police officers based at Manchester Airport. The officers gave an interesting talk about the types of crimes and incidents they deal with, explaining how airport policing differs from traditional response and neighbourhood policing.
There was also an opportunity to learn about potential apprenticeship opportunities across a range of roles at the airport. Two members of the procurement team explained their responsibilities for sourcing and purchasing the equipment, vehicles and uniforms used across the airport.
The visit concluded with an interactive learning experience, where the cadets explored different airport operations through hands-on activities. These included check-in, security screening, air traffic control, working in duty-free retail and the role of cabin crew.
Experiences like this provide our cadets with valuable insight into the wide range of careers available within the aviation industry, while helping them develop their knowledge, broaden their horizons and consider future career opportunities.
A huge thank you to all the staff at AeroZone, MAG and our guest speakers for giving up their time to make this such a valuable and enjoyable experience for our cadets.
As always, we are incredibly grateful to our dedicated volunteer leaders for giving up their time to support and safeguard our cadets, ensuring they can take part in these fantastic learning opportunities.
