Are you aged 16-25 and not in employment, education, or training? Looking for a fresh challenge but unsure which direction to take? This could be the opportunity you've been waiting for!
Join our 12-week, FREE employability programme and work towards a nationally recognised qualification in Teamwork, Employability, and Communication Skills.
Starting Tuesday 5th May 2026 at Blackburn fire Station. No qualifications required – we’ll support you with your math and English skills!
What's in it for you?
- Residential trip (4 days, 3 nights), with fun team-building activities like climbing, canoeing and raft building.
- Community project: Help refurbish a local project of the team’s choice
- 2-week work placement tailored to your interests
- Opportunities to gain extra certificates in First Aid, Money Management, and Disability Awareness
- Build your CV, receive job application support, and plan your future!

Please do not worry, this is not an emergency, our crews are taking part in a training exercise.
Our firefighters train hard to make sure they're ready for the next real-world emergency.

We’re currently developing our next Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP), the five-year plan that guides how we keep people across Lancashire safe. At this stage, there are no proposed changes; we’re simply asking communities what matters most to them.
Your feedback will help shape how our services are delivered in the years ahead, and we’re keen to hear from as many people as possible before the survey closes.
