Hardship Rate Relief Scheme Update

Following on from the update last week when it was announced that the businesses in Kilrea could apply for help to pay their rates via the Hardship Rate Relief Scheme, we have arranged for members of staff from Land & Property Services, Revenue & Benefits Branch to come to Kilrea to help the various businesses fill in the Hardship Rate Relief application form and give advice.

They will be available tomorrow (25th) from 10am until 4.00pm at Kennys Food Fare, Kilrea Service Station, 26 Garvagh Road, Coleraine, BT51 5QP

Any business from the town affected by the closure of the bridge is welcome to attend.

🙏🏻 Please take a moment to pray for the young girl who was critically injured after an accident on Boleran Road yesterday evening. My prayers are with this young girl, her family, and all who have been impacted by this accident. She needs all of our prayers at this time. 🙏🏻

Update on Bann bridge closure, Kilrea!

DfI staff are working at pace to find a resolution to reopening the bridge on a temporary solution until a permanent solution can be achieved. This will allow for a reopening of the bridge at the earliest opportunity.

Not as definite a response as we would have hoped but the department are preparing a dedicated webpage in the next few days where residents and businesses can check for updates.

Council has been made aware that blue-green algae has been confirmed at Kilrea, The Cutts and at Seaton’s Marina on the River Bann.

Due to the warm weather conditions, we anticipate there may be further blooms over the coming days.

If you suspect you have seen blue-green algae, please contact the Northern Ireland Environment Agency using their reporting app.
