Amazing work has been done by the Kent Resilience Unit (KRU) who were deployed to assist the Kent County Council at the start of the year.

Personnel from 6 Regiments supported a community testing program by administering Lateral Flow Tests (LFT) to aid in slowing the Covid infection rate in the Kent area.

These 320 soldiers from 8 Engineer Brigade supported in the smooth operation of Kent’s 22 asymptomatic testing sites and were involved with the training of many civilians who replaced them and continued the work.
Thank you and well done.

A British Army Reservist from Hampshire has been playing her part in the national effort to beat the Coronavirus pandemic. Sergeant Rosie Dicks, in addition to working in the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital also is currently serving with 256 Field Hospital - City of London as a full-time Reservist with The Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps.

From a young age she always wanted to be a nurse and help people, during her military career Rosie has been around the world on military exercises, operational tours and supported the fight against Ebola in West Africa. Her military training and passion prepared her mentally and physically for the challenges she has faced over the last year.

Rosie said; “I am very proud of the work I do and my achievements, it keeps me motivated, it can be exciting and there is always a promise of a challenge.” Rosie is keen to continue to develop her career in whatever manner that may present itself either through her employment in the NHS or as a serving soldier. However, if another deployment was on the cards she said: “I certainly wouldn’t turn the opportunity down.”
