In June 2026, one of our Business Development Managers, Shane Cooper, will be completing an 8-day challenge to ascend Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho Trail, marking the hardest challenge he has ever undertaken. This endeavor is part of his efforts to raise awareness for childhood cancer support, particularly in relation to acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

In December 2023, Shane's son Hughie was diagnosed with T Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. This is an aggressive blood related cancer. From this point, Hughie spent the majority of 2024 in hospital undergoing intense chemotherapy treatment.

As they continued through 2025 with the daily oral chemo therapy and interval lumbar punctures of chemotherapy, Shane and his family decided to take action, as they are always reminded that there are still young people and families facing what they did as a family endured back in 2023.

A long road of treatment will continue, seeing them through until April 2027 and they remain forever optimistic that Hughie will come through the other side cancer free.

The Cooper Hands was set up to raise money for those families experiencing the same journey Hughie and the Cooper family had. Shane is aiming to raise £2500.00.
