Huge congratulations to our former cadet, KS Flavio Silver on passing out yesterday from the RAF as an Air and Space Operations Specialist after completing 15 weeks of gruelling initial training.

It’s always fantastic to see the impact that cadets can have on a young person’s journey, helping to build confidence, resilience, discipline, and ambition. We are incredibly proud of what Flávio has achieved and everything he has gone on to accomplish.

Wishing him every success and happiness in his RAF career — we know he has a bright future ahead of him. Well done, Flávio! 🧡 🛰️✈️🌏

This beauty steamed into Altricham today. Who can tell me the connection between the Squadron and this steam engine?

🔶🔷Goodbye CWO Cocker🔷🔶

Today we’re finally taking a moment to recognise someone who’s been a huge part of our squadron for so long. This post may be a little late, but then again, how do you sum up everything that Cadet Warrant Officer Cocker has done, given, and achieved?

CWO Cocker has been a constant source of dedication, professionalism, and the heart of 145 squadron. From leading by example to supporting younger cadets, from pushing standards to bringing fresh ideas and energy, he has left a mark that won’t fade any time soon.

His contribution to the squadron has been immense—quietly fixing things in the background, stepping up when needed, taking on responsibilities without being asked, and always striving to make the squadron better than he found it. He’s been a role model, a mentor, and an inspiration to many.

Although his time as a cadet has come to an end, we’re all hoping this isn’t goodbye for long. We sincerely hope to see him back with us in the future in a uniformed staff role, continuing the journey from the other side of the pace stick. His leadership, enthusiasm, and commitment would be an asset to the squadron all over again.

Thank you, CWO Cocker, for everything you brought to us. Your hard work, your spirit, and your high standards have shaped the squadron in more ways than you realise. You leave behind a legacy to be proud of—and a squadron that’s better because you were part of it.

💙 Once 145, always 145. The door is always open. 💙

What an incredible weekend!

A total of 59 cadets and 13 dedicated staff came together at Inskip Cadet Training Centre for a multi-activity camp packed with challenge, learning, and unforgettable memories.

Across the weekend, cadets had the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities designed to build skill, confidence, and teamwork. From marksmanship shooting and archery to leadership tasks, team challenges, flight simulators, and a whole range of hands-on experiences — there truly was something for everyone.

The cadets showed fantastic enthusiasm, positivity, and discipline throughout the entire camp. Their attitude made the weekend not only successful but genuinely enjoyable for all involved. We could not be prouder of how they represented their squadrons.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to all the staff who gave up their time to plan, deliver, supervise, teach, encourage, and support the cadets. Camps like this simply wouldn’t happen without your dedication, expertise, and willingness to go above and beyond.

We’d also like to extend a big thank you to Inskip CTC for hosting us once again. The facilities, environment, and support provided always help make these weekends such a success.

Finally, a special shoutout to CI Bennett for putting together an amazing highlights video that perfectly captured the energy, excitement, and fun of the weekend. The smiles say it all!

👏 An unforgettable camp.
💪 New skills gained.
🤝 Friendships strengthened.
🎯 Confidence built.

We’re already counting down the days until our next visit.
See you again soon, Inskip!

🔷🔶Staff Success🔶🔷

This evening, staff from 145 Squadron proudly attended the Greater Manchester Wing Presentation Evening.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Plt Off Dudley, WO Stott, and CI Bennett were each awarded a Commandant’s Recognition for Meritorious Service. This honour is reserved for individuals who consistently demonstrate exceptional commitment, outstanding effort, and unwavering support to the organisation — and all three exemplify these qualities every day.

Their hard work behind the scenes, their leadership, and the countless hours they devote to our cadets and squadron do not go unnoticed. It is fantastic to see their contributions recognised at Wing level.

A huge congratulations to all three on this well-deserved achievement. 👏

Thank you for everything you do for 145 and for the wider RAFAC community — we are incredibly lucky to have you! 🥳🎉🎊

🔷🔶 Football Success 🔶🔷

Today, cadets from 145 Squadron took part in the Inter-Squadron 5-a-side football competition.

We are delighted to announce that our Under 16s team secured first place, meaning they will now go forward to represent the squadron at the Inter-Wing competition next Sunday. An incredible achievement!

Our amazing Under 14s team unfortunately didn’t place in the top four, but they played brilliantly throughout the competition — especially considering they competed as a 4-person team.

We are incredibly proud of all the cadets who took part today and represented the squadron so well.

Good luck to our Under 16s next week — let’s hope the winning streak continues! ⚽
