You can help keep yourself and our bin crews safe by washing your hands and giving your bin handle a wipe down when you put it out for collection and bring it back in again.
Make sure you wash your hands after bringing the bin back in. Our crews wear gloves to protect them but touch MANY bins each day

As a temporary measure during food waste is not being collected separately and should be put in your general rubbish bin (see previous post for full details).
Food waste should be put into your general rubbish bin, which will be collected on your usual general rubbish collection day.
To help reduce waste put in the general rubbish bin, you can home compost:
Fruit and vegetable peelings🥕🥔, seeds and cores🍏🍎; egg shells🥚; tea bags☕️; coffee grounds and filter paper; paper towels or tissues 🧻 (not if they have touched meat).
You cannot compost: cooked food🍕🍝, fish🐟, meat 🥩🍗 or dairy products 🧀 (these must be put in your general rubbish bin).
To find out more about home-composting visit: https://www.recycleforbuckinghamshire.co.uk/reduce-your-waste/home-composting/, you can also get a discounted home compost bin via www.getcomposting.com
For tips on how you can reduce the amount of food you waste, visit: https://www.recycleforbuckinghamshire.co.uk/reduce-your-waste/love-food-hate-waste/
We recognise the benefits of our weekly food collection, both for residents and the environment. This change is only temporary and we will reinstate separate food waste collections as soon as possible. During this time, your food waste will be disposed of appropriately at an energy from waste plant, and will not be landfilled.

Coronavirus crisis: CTSI Chief slams "unscrupulous profiteers"
Over the past fortnight, the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) has issued a series of warnings about new COVID-19 coronavirus-related scams.
Having received seemingly endless reports of price gouging by unscrupulous profiteers, the Chief Executive of CTSI, Leon Livermore, had this to say: "Like most people, my CTSI colleagues and I are appalled by the behaviour of some businesses at this time. The vast majority of businesses have responded responsibly and demonstrated all that is good about British business.
"Much of our legislation is unfit for the context of this emergency and was never designed for it. We are grateful for the work of our profession and partners in helping to protect the public from scams and other unscrupulous behaviours under challenging circumstances.
“We are reviewing the relevant legislation and are considering potential applications in these unprecedented circumstances. We are in the process of seeking further guidance and clarification from leading barrister chambers.
"Let me be perfectly clear - it is heartbreaking that we have to go through this process to get certain businesses to act in a responsible manner.
"My message to business is this - if you are inflating prices to profit off the backs of your community and their distress, then you are not just severely damaging your reputation and your long-term prospects as a business, it also shows what type of human being you are.
"The British public will remember which individuals and businesses supported them at this time and which showed utter contempt for them and vote with their wallets once this crisis ends."

♻️Important update on recycling & food waste collections♻️
Recycling collections are due to restart on Monday 30 March in Chiltern and Wycombe district areas. Please put out your recycling on your next scheduled collection day.
Unfortunately, we are unable to return for containers that weren’t collected during the service suspension last week. But we will collect a reasonable amount of extra recycling, if it’s in a reusable container or cardboard box, on your next scheduled collection day.
Due to social distancing, the Household Recycling Centres in Buckinghamshire are closed. Please do not visit these sites to dispose of your recycling.
To enable recycling collections, the weekly food waste collection service will be temporarily suspended. Please compost food waste like fruit and vegetable peelings at home if you can. Anything that can’t be composted, please dispose of in your general rubbish bin as a temporary measure.
Thanks for your patience and understanding during what is a really difficult time for us all.

🚗🚙 Car parking charges for our council-owned car parks and on-street parking have been suspended to help frontline staff who still need to travel to work during the coronavirus crisis. 🚗🚙
The move, which comes into force with immediate effect, will mean people will not have to touch parking machines to get tickets, reducing the risk of contamination and spreading the virus.
Residents are asked to park sensibly and safely and observe social distancing.
Please avoid causing any obstruction to other traffic or pedestrians, for further info visit https://bit.ly/2y6aqJ6
⚠️Please remember you should still only be leaving the house if absolutely necessary in line with government guidelines ⚠️

This is John.
Just like everyone else in the UK, John has effectively been ‘grounded’ by the Prime Minister. This means unless it’s urgent, or for one of the following reasons, John is not allowed to leave his house.
➡️To buy essential food supplies
➡️To buy essential medical supplies
➡️To carry out one form of daily physical exercise (run, cycle, dog walk etc.)
➡️To go to work if you are a ‘key worker’ or are unable to work from home – full list of key workers can be found at www.gov.uk
John is following the UK guidelines issued by the Prime Minster. John is staying at home. John is saving lives. Be like John. 👍
