Calan DVS Amman Valley can offer crisis accomodation within the Ammanford area and/or will assist families and / or individuals in accessing crisis accomodation in other areas if needed. Calan DVS Amman Valley can also offer Floating support to families and individuals who wish to remain in their own homes, Floating support is structured and the support can last for up to one year or longer. General information

Amman Valley Women's Aid (Now known as Calan DVS Amman Valley) was established in 1992 and became a registered charity in 1993, Charity number 1024066, since it's launch the charity has gone from strength to strength and has provided an excellent service to women and children in the Amman Valley, the main aim of the charity is to continue to offer this level of service and to develop a bigger and better service in the future.
On November the 1st 2011 Amman Valley Women's Aid amended their constitution to include offering support services to men who have experienced domestic abuse, they were the first Women's Aid group in Carmarthenshire to do this.

On April 1st 2016 Amman Valley Women's Aid merged with Calan DVS and became known as Calan DVS Amman Valley.
The decision was made after months of planning and careful thought, it was decided it was in the best interests of AVWA to merge with a larger, innovative and forward thinking organisation, particularly in a climate where smaller charities are being forced to tender against each other to secure funding for service provision.
