Please be advised that this area of the park is currently closed and children must not play within the fenced-off section.

The works being carried out are essential and are being completed to:
✔️ Improve safety
✔️ Enhance the park for the wider community

📅 Expected completion date: 4th April

🌿 Memorial Bench Update 🌿

Great news – the Memorial Bench on Quay Street will be back in place on 1st April 💚

Thank you so much for your patience while the repairs were being carried out – we know how important this bench is to many in our community.

A big thank you also to Gregs for kindly funding the repair – your support is truly appreciated 🙏

We look forward to seeing the bench back where it belongs on Quay Street.

🌿 Orchard Planting Success – Friday 20th March 🌿

We had a fantastic day on Friday 20th March, with beautiful sunshine and a wonderful group of volunteers eager to get involved.

The day began with a helpful briefing from Keep Wales Tidy, who provided an overview of the planting process and guidance on how to correctly plant and care for the trees. This ensured everyone felt confident and ready to get started.

Together, we planted 15 fruit trees, including apple, cherry, and plum varieties, along with a range of bulbs such as bluebells, snowdrops, and wild garlic.

We also installed a bug hotel, which is a specially designed habitat to support insects such as bees, ladybirds, and other beneficial wildlife. These insects play a vital role in pollination and maintaining a healthy ecosystem, helping our orchard to thrive naturally.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped – your support is making a real difference to our green spaces 🌱

Please be advised that the entrance to Ammanford Playground from the Cricket Ground will be closed during the daytime while essential safety improvement works are carried out.

These works are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and quality of the park for all users.

✅ The entrance will reopen once works are complete each day
⚠️ Please use alternative access points during this time

Update – Ammanford Memorial Bench (Military Veterans)

The Memorial Bench dedicated to our Military Veterans will be collected on 4th March to undergo necessary repairs.

We kindly ask residents to please bear with us on the day of collection, as space will be required to safely remove and load the bench into the collection vehicle.

Ammanford Town Council would like to invite residents to come along and view the proposed design for the new Riverway Playground.
This is a great opportunity to see what is planned for the park.

🌳 Volunteers Needed — Help Us Create a Community Orchard! 🍎🍐

Ammanford Town Council is looking for volunteers to help plant and establish a new Community Orchard as part of the Local Places for Nature – Community Orchard Package, supported by Keep Wales Tidy.

This is a wonderful opportunity to come together, learn new skills, support local biodiversity, and create something that the community can enjoy for generations to come.

We’re looking for at least five volunteers (the more the merrier!) to help with:

Planting fruit trees

Setting up the orchard area

Supporting the creation of a new nature space

Helping us care for the orchard over time

No experience is needed — just enthusiasm and suitable outdoor clothing.

Planting will take place once the trees are delivered, and the project will be completed within a month of delivery. We’ll share the confirmed date, time, and location with everyone who signs up.

By volunteering, you’ll be helping to:

Support wildlife and pollinators

Create a shared community space

Contribute to Ammanford’s biodiversity goals

Be part of a positive local environmental project
