Kent Community Foundation Local grant-maker supporting charities and community groups with funding across Kent & Medway.

Kent Community Foundation has been finding, funding, and supporting some of the smallest voluntary organisations in the county since 2001. In this time, we have distributed Β£60m to support thousands of small charities and deserving causes where a modest sum of money can make a significant impact. We are part of a UK-wide accredited network of 47 Community Foundations who are committed to improving the lives of local people and communities, particularly the most vulnerable, isolated, and disadvantaged by matching those who want to help, with those who need the help. Responsible for more than 95 philanthropic funds, Kent Community Foundation is unrivalled in its knowledge of local causes and assists individuals, families, and businesses, who want to help, to establish and administer their own charitable funds.

We've been harvesting 🍎

Yesterday our team spent the day at Brogdale Collections - Charity, home of the National Fruit Collection, helping to pick apples that will be turned into delicious Brogdale apple juice and c***r.

We enjoyed a fascinating tour led by trustee and fruit agronomist Neil Franklin, who shared some brilliant insights into fruit growing and the incredible collection of more than 3,500 varieties of fruit. We even had a go at juicing ourselves and visited the famous Space Tree! πŸš€

Brogdale opens up this unique national collection for everyone to enjoy, helping visitors discover the history, heritage and science behind fruit growing through tours, events and educational activities.

A huge thank you to everyone at Brogdale for such a warm welcome. We loved spending time with the team and learning more about this very special place πŸ’š
