‼Update: Cornwallis Avenue bus shelter damage‼

Following our appeal, we have received information suggesting that an Iceland Foods delivery van may have been involved on Monday evening, 26 October. We are seeking further information to establish what happened.

Did you witness anything, or do you have any doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage from that evening?**

If you received an Iceland delivery on Cornwallis Avenue or nearby that evening, we would also appreciate hearing from you, as your delivery time may help us narrow down when the damage occurred.

If you have already commented with information but have not yet spoken to an officer or emailed us, please do get in touch so we can follow this up.

We are disappointed to have discovered this week that the bus shelter on Cornwallis Avenue, Aylesham, has been damaged again. The shelter was previously damaged in July 2025 and repaired towards the end of that year.

Did you witness anything, or do you have any doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage that could help us establish when and how the damage occurred?

If you have any information, please contact Aylesham Parish Council:

🌳 Spinney Wood – Essential Tree Safety Works

As outlined in our September newsletter, tree safety works at Spinney Wood are scheduled to commence on Tuesday 3 November, subject to weather conditions.

A professional tree survey undertaken in September identified trees requiring remedial work, including a number that are dead or predominantly dead near roads and public footpaths. The recommended works include felling, pruning and reducing certain trees to help keep woodland users, pedestrians and road users safe.

These essential works form part of the Council’s health and safety responsibilities and must be completed by 2 December 2026 to meet its insurance requirements.

🚦 Traffic management will be in place as a number of the trees are close to the B2046 Adisham Road and Spinney Lane. Please take care around the working areas and follow temporary signage and instructions.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while these works are carried out.

📄 Further information is available in our September newsletter (https://www.ayleshamparishcouncil.gov.uk/shared/attachments.asp?f=e340b34f%2D6d2c%2D4a67%2D94f7%2D8f03516170d4%2Epdf&o=September%2D2026%2DNewsletter%2Epdf).
