Well, I don’t think many of us have fished in wind quite like that before, and the broken poles certainly proved it! 😅 Ahh well, that’s us mad anglers for you! 😂🎣

Despite the awful weather, the fishing actually turned out pretty well!

🏆 This round’s results:

🥇 1st – Scot from end peg 7 on Heron. 25lb 9oz, doing just enough to take the win! 👏

🥈 2nd – Lee Bennett 24lb 15oz from end peg 15 on Heron, finishing just 10oz short of the winner. What a close one!

🥉 3rd – Yorkie from end peg 16 on Cabin with a cracking weight of 19lb 12oz! 👏🎣

A big well done to all the lads who braved the conditions and got stuck in, and a massive thank you to Barlow Fishery for their hospitality as always.

Hi all,

Just a quick note to let you know Heron & Cabin ponds will be closed this Sunday due to the Winter Silvers League.

Narnia and New Pond are open for day ticket and are packed with fish.

A big well done to Jonathan Banner, who landed the known fish Midas from Peg 3 at 27lb.

Fishing around three-quarters of the way across the pond, Jonathan presented a Multi Rig with Pro Stim Liver in a solid bag, with a scattering of bait around the area.

After just over 12 hours without a single beep, the rod finally screamed off just before 9pm!

Patience paid off, nice work!

🥶 The Winter Carp Ticket is BACK! From 1st November – 1st March

🎫 TICKET DETAILS 💷 £100 📅 1st November – 1st March ⏱️ Maximum 72 hours per session 📞 Bookings must be confirmed 48 hours in advance. Cancellations require 48 hours’ notice. 🕙 Carp Lake hours: 10am – 10am

📋 MEMBERSHIP & RULES
Contact details required on payment.
Non-transferable membership card issued on your first session. Must be shown alongside a valid driving licence.
Maximum 2 rods — no unattended rods. House pellets and boilies only.
Small amounts of maggots and worms permitted.

All particles and nuts, including tigers, are banned.

🚤 Bait boats permitted — fish your designated swim only! 🎣 Barbless hooks only, minimum 12lb mainline, no braided mainline.

🐟 Carp care kits are compulsory. Nets, mats and weigh slings are provided.

♻️ Respect the fish, your fellow anglers and the fishery. Keep swims clean, report sick or dying fish immediately, and cooperate with bailiff rig checks.

🎫 A valid EA rod licence is essential.

⚠️ BREAK THE RULES, RISK LOSING YOUR MEMBERSHIP!

The bailiff reserves the right to remove any angler found breaking fishery rules.

Barlow Winter Silvers League Round 1

The first round of the Barlow Winter League took place on Sunday and what a day it was!

The silverfish sport on this beautiful venue was absolutely phenomenal, with bites coming all day long for anglers across the lake. It really does leave us scratching our heads as to why more people don’t come and experience fishing like this, but we’re quite happy to keep it to ourselves for now!

As always, the cream rose to the top and it was Scott Bufton who led the way with a fantastic all-roach catch weighing 49lb, a superb effort on a day when quality fish were feeding throughout the match.

The backing weights were impressive too, showing just how prolific the fishing is at Barlow right now. With plenty of bites, quality silverfish and great company, it was a brilliant start to this year’s Winter League.

Well done to everyone who took part, and we look forward to seeing how the league unfolds over the coming rounds. 🎣👏
