A wonderful opportunity to reflect on the past year, recognise the dedication of our team and trustees, and look ahead to the next chapter for NDVS.

There are some exciting developments ahead as we continue to shape our strategic direction and future-proof NDVS, ensuring we can keep strengthening, connecting, championing and supporting the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector across North Devon.

Can you help ?

🛻 We're putting out a friendly call to our North Devon community.
Demand for our community transport service continues to grow, and we really need a few more volunteer drivers who could offer us a little regular time each week.
Perhaps you're retired and still active, an ex-service person, have worked in the emergency services or on the frontline, work shifts, work part-time, or simply have some spare time and would like to put it to really good use.
You don't need a particular background. You just need to be a kind person, a confident driver and happy to help.
Our volunteer drivers use their own cars to help older and vulnerable people get to medical appointments, shopping, social activities and other important journeys.
For some of the people we support, that journey is about much more than getting from A to B. It can help them stay independent, connected to their community and less isolated.
We're particularly keen to hear from people who might be able to manage more than one journey a week, but please don't let that put you off getting in touch. We'd much rather have a chat and see what might work for you.
A few hours of your time could make an enormous difference to somebody else's week.
Training and support are provided, along with out-of-pocket / fuel expenses.

Today we'd like to recognise the amazing team at North Devon Voluntary Services - NDVS and extend our thanks for all that they do!
Throughout The Woodyards journey, NDVS have hosted us, provided financial support and guidance, managed our Project Coordinators payroll, HR and supervision, enabled collaborative work and have offered a safe and supportive starting point from which we could grow, with their advice on hand. Not only that, but members of their team regularly attend our Mindful Mondays and Quiz Nights and ensure that their support is accessible to not only us, but our other attendees.
Since day one, they've been welcoming, knowledgeable and consistently available whenever we've needed their help. Their belief in what we are doing and their commitment to helping organisations succeed has made our growth into becoming our own established CIC infinitely easier and we wanted to shout it from the rooftops!
NDVS supports charities, social enterprises and community groups across North Devon with everything from governance and funding advice to volunteer support, training and organisational development.

Insurance, risk management and risk registers are topics we’re regularly asked about at NDVS.

So a huge thank you to Tim Larden from Access Insurance Services, part of the Benefact Group, for delivering a free webinar on managing risk for charities and community groups.

A really valuable opportunity to share practical knowledge and help local organisations navigate an important area of governance.

We’re grateful for Tim’s time and expertise, and hope this will be the first of many webinars as we continue developing our NDVS training offer.
