The Green Party has voted to brand Zionism as racism, a policy the Chief Rabbi has called “poisonous antisemitism”.

The Liberal Democrats say they condemn it, yet here in Devon they still run the county council with Green support and a Green councillor in the cabinet.

Labour has given its Green partners until this week to disown the policy or lose their place in power, and Devon’s Liberal Democrats should do the same. Antisemitism is not a matter for local discretion.

Five years ago today, Sir David Amess was murdered while doing what he had done for almost 40 years: serving the people who elected him.

He never stopped showing up for them. On the day his life was taken, he was there once again, listening and helping, just as he always had.

Today we remember a much-loved colleague and friend. Above all, our thoughts are with his wife and children, who carry his loss every day.

Our next Prime Minister….

30/09/2026

The Labour minister responsible for rural affairs and the environment, Jenny Riddell-Carpenter, believes that the next general election will be fought on a “far right” vision of rural Britain that never existed? I would suggest she gets herself out to some of our wonderful pubs on Exmoor, that vision is very much alive. To call the rural way of life far right is baffling and downright dangerous. The countryside is not the enemy, it is an asset and farming is a vital, national industry. Rural life needs to be treated with respect by this government!

𝗔𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗨-𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗡 𝗥𝗜𝗣𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗚𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧

Today, Labour has announced an astonishing U-turn on local government reorganisation in Devon.

Millions of pounds have been wasted on months of preparation, planning and additional staffing for a deeply flawed proposal.

From the very beginning, Labour has mishandled what should have been a genuine opportunity for efficiency savings; from gerrymandering warding arrangements, to cancelling elections, and now scrapping the process altogether.

This is a shambles from start to finish.

Labour has shown that it is completely incompetent when it comes to delivering effective local government; the time has come for them to go.
