πŸŽ₯πŸ“…Wednesday 28th: FREE Movie Day at The Rufus Centre Flitwick.

A little something to do during the half-term❗

11am - Spies in Disguise (PG)

Super spy Lance Sterling and scientist Walter Beckett are almost exact opposites. Lance is smooth, suave and debonair. Walter is not. But what Walter lacks in social skills he makes up for in smarts and invention, creating the awesome gadgets Lance uses on his epic missions. But when events take an unexpected turn, Walter and Lance suddenly have to rely on each other in a whole new way. And if this odd couple can't learn to work as a team, the whole world is in peril.

Running time: 102 minutes

2pm - Dolittle (PG)

After his wife's death, the eccentric, famed doctor and veterinarian of Victorian England, John Dolittle (Robert Downey, Jr.) isolates himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with his animals for company. When Queen Victoria (Jessie Buckley) falls ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to go on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and encounters wondrous creatures.

Running time: 101 minutes

πŸ‚ Discover a New View of the Arboretum! πŸ‚

Thanks to the hard work of the Manor Park volunteer group, two new entrances have been created into the Arboretum. One access point at the top provides an easier route that avoids the dip, while a second entrance near the lake helps visitors bypass areas that can become wet during the winter months.

These new routes open up fresh perspectives across the parkland and make it even easier to enjoy this beautiful space. Why not take an autumn stroll and explore the stunning seasonal colours on display? πŸπŸƒ

A huge thank you to our volunteers for helping make Manor Park more accessible and enjoyable for everyone. πŸ’š

🌞 Perfect weather this morning for our volunteer session at the Nature Park, Maulden Road, led by Guy Lambourne from Wasseldine.

πŸ‚ Thank you to everyone who joined us, working together with the Public Realm Team to cut 50 trial plots of hazel to start us on our journey to coppice hazel!

The initial cutting of young hazel stems close to ground level to establish a healthy coppice stool. This encourages vigorous new shoots to grow from the base, creating a dense, multi-stemmed structure that can be managed through a future rotational coppicing cycle.

If you want to know more about the Nature Park and how you can volunteer, please email [email protected] or call 01525 631900.
