Meet the gorilla family: Part two 🦍
Bamilla is a very sweet individual. She always greets her keepers with the loud grumbles when they arrive every morning. However, she can be unpredictable and spirited in her behaviour towards individuals she is unsure of. She enjoys her enrichment, especially large ice blocks filled with tasty treats. Bamilla is known for her stick throwing and her occasional loud outbursts during conflicts.
Born 29th August 1987 to Bitam and Killa Killa.
Sanki is a very confident individual. Lekedi is her fourth baby and she can be very protective over him. Recently, she has allowed other group members to interact with him under her watchful eye. Sanki loves her food and shows her excitement at feeding times with her distinctive singing and humming.
Born 4th July 1998 to Kifu and Sounda.
Affy has a strong personality. She's a very confident and strong-minded individual and is the most dominant female within Sammi's Group. She's a first-time mum to Saffi and is very affectionate towards her. She lives alongside her full sister Masindi and enjoys spending time with her and Sammi.
Lekedi is the newest member of Djanghou's group. His keepers say he's quite advanced for his age. He's becoming more adventurous and can be seen moving around independently at times…but always close by to mum. He's become more confident with his climbing skills and can often be seen climbing anything he can get his hands on! His confidence has grown over the past couple of months and he's developing a cheeky little personality.
Born 19th December 2025 to Djanghou and Sanki.
Saffi is the newest addition to Sammi's Group. She's a very jolly individual and enjoys playing with her dad, Sammi, and aunties, Masindi and Mali. She has become more independent and is often moving about the space frame foraging independently at feeds.
Saffi is 3 years old (born 17th April 2023 to Sammi and Affy).
