The Parish Council is asking residents to be flood aware and consider if their property could be affected by flooding in the event of heavy rain or stormy weather.
We recommend that all residents initially check the website https://check-long-term-flood-risk.service.gov.uk/postcode to check the risk of flooding to their postcode area.
Where there is any risk to your property, sign up for flood alerts and warnings at https://www.gov.uk/get-flood-warnings . This service gives advance warnings about potential flooding due to rivers.
If you think your property could be at risk we recommend making a household flood plan - more information at how to do this at:https://thefloodhub.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/FT-Q-R120-Flood-Hub-Household-Flood-Planning-Guide.pdf
You could also consider making a 'grab bag' of essential items like pet supplies, medicines, warm clothes, waterproofs and a torch if you need to leave your home in a hurry.
The Parish Council Community Flood Plan gives information on how the Council and community would respond to a flooding event and this, along with further flooding advice, can be found on the Parish Council's website: https://www.duffieldparishcouncil.gov.uk/flooding
