*Labour will take on the tax dodgers to fund our NHS*
• Labour will raise over £5 billion a year to fund our pledges for the NHS and breakfast clubs. The plan we are announcing today will give HMRC the resources it needs to go after those who are avoiding or evading tax.
• At a time when working people in Britain are being asked to pay more in tax because of the Conservatives’ economic failures, it is wrong that a minority continue to avoid paying what they owe.
• After fourteen years in power, the Conservatives have failed to tackle this issue and the tax gap remains unacceptable high. With Labour, things will change. We will take on the tax dodgers because if you make your home and do your business in Britain, then you should pay your taxes here too.
• Our schools and our hospitals are the British people’s priorities – and they are Labour’s priorities too.

• After fourteen years of the Conservatives, the country needs change.
• Tory chaos has cost the country dearly, and working people are paying the price. Households will be on average £870 worse off under Sunak’s tax plan. The Tories have failed on the economy, failed on public services and failed on living standards.
• In the face of that, a changed Labour Party stands ready to govern. With Keir’s leadership, Labour is back in the service of the British people. Keir will always put the country first.
• It's time to stop the chaos, turn the page and start to rebuild.
• A mission driven government led by Keir Starmer will be focused on delivering our five priorities; to get Britain building again, switch on Great British Energy, get the NHS back on its feet, take back our streets and break down the barriers to opportunity.

418 UPDATE
Last night at full council I asked the Chair of Liverpool City Region Transport Committee
Cllr Steve Foulkes for an update on the 418 bus route.

Pleased to report 418 has secured funding from the city region for a further 12 months.
Thanks again to Brendan Murphy for getting that petition going 🌹🌹🌹
