After over 20 year's service to FHA, supporting our tenants and the wider public, our Receptionist Helen is due to retire, with Friday 15th May being her last day in the office. Helen has always worked hard to look after our tenants, and she has been there to support many of you through difficult times. Helen will be missed by many of our tenants and her colleagues. If any of our tenants would like to call in and say goodbye, Helen will be available until 3pm on Friday. Everyone at FHA wishes Helen a long, happy and healthy retirement.

Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard Consultation: As part of the Decent Homes Standard review, the Government has also launched a consultation on the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards for social housing. The proposals could have a very significant impact on our tenants' homes as they include measures designed to move away from fossil fuels and gas central heating. This could require massive investment by landlords to replace gas boilers with electric heat pumps. Heat pumps need to be left running constantly to be effective and so it may be difficult for those on low incomes to afford to run them. The closing date for this consultation is 11.45pm on 10th September 2025. Visit https://consult.communities.gov.uk/social-housing/srs-mees-consultation/ to take part in the consultation.
