Job Title: Auxillary

About the Role
Orton House is seeking a caring, reliable and organised Auxillary position to support our residents with a high-quality dining experience. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring meals and refreshments are delivered safely, efficiently and with warmth and respect.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare trolleys with teas, coffees and meals for scheduled rounds
• Serve drinks and snacks to residents at set times (e.g. mid-morning and afternoon)
• Ensure all dietary restrictions and preferences are followed (e.g. thickened fluids, diabetic snacks)
• Transport meals to residents’ rooms for breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper
• Contribute to food and fluid intake records as required
• Check meal lists to ensure correct dietary requirements are met (e.g. soft or puréed meals)
• Clear dishes after meals and return them to the kitchen for cleaning
• Keep the trolley clean, organised and fully stocked before each round
• Follow proper infection control procedures, including cleaning trolley areas and separating clean and used items
• Monitor fridge temperatures in residents’ bedrooms and check that food is in date and correctly labelled
• Report any health and safety concerns promptly
• Communicate with residents regarding meal choices and liaise with the kitchen, care manager or senior on shift as needed
• Clean dining areas and set tables ahead of mealtimes

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Health Care Assistant to lead and support care staff in delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
Working under the direction of the care manager, you will supervise care teams, ensuring they are working effectively, monitor residents’ health and wellbeing and ensure that any changes are reflected in the care plans.
Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure all duties are completed safely and to a high standard.
Monitor and guide staff to ensure compliance with care policies and best practices. You would be responsible for medication management in line with regulatory requirements.
The role involves having oversight of the overall shift and ensuring all tasks are completed safely and effectively. Uphold and enforce all health and safety, safeguarding and infection control procedures.
This may include supporting with personal care, social activities as required. On the shift in the absence of management you would be acting as a key point of contact for families and professionals.
You would be working closely with the management team to review processes and the dependency needs of the residents to promote a learning culture that thrives.
Strong communication, relevant experience, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous development are essential.
Senior Health Care Assistant: £13.75 per hour

We are seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to support residents with personal care, activities of daily living, and mobility, while ensuring dignity, comfort, and safety.
The role includes maintaining a clean environment, monitoring residents’ wellbeing, supporting social activities, and responding to their care needs during either day or night shifts.
You will also assist with meals, support with health appointments, and contribute to accurate care records. In addition, promoting person centred care in a keyworker capacity, liaising with families and supporting the individual with care reviews.
Strong communication skills, teamwork, reliability, and a caring nature are essential, with opportunities to develop and learn new skills including medication management.
Furthermore, you will have an opportunity to support new staff, work with a variety of healthcare professionals, families and senior team members.
