The Badgers explored the animals whilst we heard all about David Attenborough and his very special 100th birthday.
The children loved finding the hidden animals in the book all about his long, fascinating life. 🦁🐧🐳🦍

This week is superhero week so we decided to set up a table with different items of clothing and accessories for the children to explore along with practicing putting things on for themselves. We also read a book to the children about superhero’s. The children then had an important task to take part in, they had to try save the animals that were trapped, this was a problem solving activity to use their hands to free the majority of animals helping to develop their grip. Tweezers were added to the tray so that the children could practice picking things up with a pincer grip, some children found this tricky, so through the help and support from the staff and encouragement the children were able to complete this. Great job everyone you are all superhero’s. 🥰

Today is world penguin day so the children in rabbits have been doing activities about penguins. The children have been developing their hand eye coordination skills using the hammers to break the ice to free the penguins. One child put the ice cube in their mouth and did the action of shivering as it was cold. The children had a go at making their own penguins out of play dough. 🐧🐧🐧

The children in Badgers were learning to use scissors. The children used the scissors on the herb plants. What started out tricky soon became manageable and the children preserved and were able to cut the herbs their own way. ✂️
