The public consultation for the Redesign and Transformation of Day Services began on Monday 16 February 2026 and will run for 12 weeks. This is an important opportunity for people who use our services—and their families—to share their views and influence how day services are shaped for the future.
To help people take part, a series of workshops will be held in each day service location throughout the consultation period. These sessions will be led by Wirral MENCAP and Healthwatch, providing independent support to help individuals understand and complete the questionnaire in a way that feels comfortable and accessible to them. Day centres will share the dates and times of these sessions as they are confirmed.
We know how much people value your encouragement and reassurance. A simple conversation, reminder, or prompt from you can make a real difference in helping someone feel confident to get involved. Please take every opportunity to:
• Let people know about the consultation
• Support them to understand why their views matter
• Remind families and carers that they can also complete the questionnaire

Last year it was agreed to consider the purchase of smaller vehicles for use by Wirral Evolutions Day Services Wirral Council to create more community-based opportunities for the people supported.
This week Terri Clayton (Service Coordinator, Wirral Evolutions) and Sarah Turner (All Age Disability Manager) have been taking a test vehicle on a three-day roadshow around the day services to give staff and people supported the opportunity to test the vehicles out.
People supported said the car is comfortable and there is lots of room for wheelchair users to access. The vehicle would allow those who can’t access the minibus to enjoy more community activities in the future.
Special thanks to Terri and Sarah for making this happen, and to Enterprise Flex-e-rent in Ellesmere Port.

🎄 Many council services and venues will be closing for the Christmas break but you'll find emergency contact numbers and useful details in one place (link below in comments). You can also report issues on the website 24/7.
We'll only be posting the odd reminder until Jan and comments won't be monitored, but we do wish you all a very happy and restful Christmas!
