Smoking is uniquely harmful - no other consumer product kills up to two thirds of its users. ⚠️

That's why the To***co and Vapes Act will create a smoke-free generation from the 1st January 2027, meaning the children of today and the future can never legally purchase to***co. 🚬

The aim is simple: protect future generations from to***co addiction and end the harm caused by smoking. 🚭

At the same time, anyone who smokes now can benefit from stopping, and there is more free and effective support available than ever before.

The Baton of Hope will return to Birmingham on Monday 13 September 2027.

Every su***de is a tragedy that leaves a lasting impact on families, friends and communities.

That's why we’re proud to welcome the Baton of Hope back to our city next year.

Applications to become a Baton Bearer are now open. Head to the link in the comments to find out more and apply.

Together, we can help make conversations about mental health and su***de prevention easier.

Great advice here 👇

Please be careful if you, but especially your children are wearing fancy dress costumes this Halloween. The material used is often extremely flammable. Keep costumes away from naked flames, and consider LED candles in and around the house instead.

Warning for parents and carers.

🎃 Halloween costumes can catch fire quickly.

Keep your children and their costumes away from naked flames and lit pumpkins.

Before the celebrations begin:

✅ Buy from a reputable retailer
✅ Check for UKCA or CE markings
✅ Make sure costumes fit properly and do not create a trip hazard
✅ Check decorations, lights and batteries for damage

A few simple checks can help keep your Halloween fun and safe.
