Woodgate Valley Country Park parkrun – Event #239 🌳🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

After a week of uncertain weather, the rain kindly held off for most of the morning, making for a dryer than expected parkrun at Woodgate Valley Country Park.

Before we get into the numbers, we’d like to say a huge thank you to the volunteers who spent time during the week continuing to clear the course.

From dealing with a fallen tree to cutting back overhanging branches and bushes, their hard work ensured that the course remains safe and enjoyable for all of you that come along to share in the valley. It’s a great example of the community spirit that makes our event so special.

This week, 169 people ran, jogged and walked the course, including 34 first timers and 18 new Personal Bests. We were also delighted to welcome representatives from 22 different clubs, along with visitors from near and far.

A huge thank you goes to our amazing team of 19 volunteers, without whom parkrun simply couldn’t happen:

Since starting on 7th August 2021, Woodgate Valley Country Park parkrun has welcomed 9,362 participants who have completed 37,486 parkruns, covering an incredible 187,430 km and recording 6,034 PBs. Our event has only been possible thanks to 717 volunteers who have volunteered an amazing 4,971 times.

Whether you joined us for the first time, achieved a PB, volunteered, or simply came along to enjoy the atmosphere, thank you for being part of another brilliant Saturday morning.
