🏡 Retrofit, obviously!
We were proud to take part in the inaugural summit hosted by the National Retrofit Hub, bringing together people and organisations working to reimagine retrofit across the UK.
As part of the Retrofit Reimagined Collective, Retrofit Balsall Heath is committed to campaigning for system change that puts communities at the heart of retrofit - ensuring local people benefit from the decisions, investment and work that shape their homes and neighbourhoods.
At the summit, we focused on Procurement & Social Value: looking beyond the retrofit works themselves to ask the bigger questions.
How can organisations ensure that the benefits promised by institutions and suppliers actually reach local people? Where does decision-making power sit? And how can stronger partnerships help deliver meaningful, lasting change?
We were especially pleased to be joined by Richard Labran from our partners at Birmingham City Council, reflecting the importance of collaboration between communities and local authorities in making retrofit work for everyone.
We’re honoured to be part of this national collective and to contribute to a movement that sees retrofit as more than improving buildings — it’s about creating better outcomes for people and communities.
Because retrofit should work for the people who live there. 💚
