THE TRAILER
We’ve had many people ask us “is this the same as the cafe?”
The answer is YES! It gives us the opportunity to serve hot and cold drinks quicker as well as the fabulous soft scoop ice cream from marshfields in the beautiful waffle cones!
The trailer is weather dependent ☔️ 💨 ❄️ ☀️
Today - we will be trialling opening the trailer 12 until 4. We’ve been very quiet in the mornings! If the weather isn’t great, we won’t be opening it at all!
But, nothing to stress over. We can still serve all the hot and cold drinks inside, and we have the marshfield ice cream tubs, ice pops and their new delicious “moments” ice cream!
See you over the weekend 🫶🏼🥰

Yesterday our volunteers made the most of the fine weather to start the spring clean of our rainbow benches and to remove tree guards from the young trees that no longer need the protection. You might remember when we planted the small grove of trees near to south car park in 2023. The trees are now firmly established and looking fantastic.

Help skylarks have a successful year breeding on the Waseley Hills!
Our 2026 Skylark project is live! From1st of April until 31st July all visitors will be required to stick to the perimeter path and put dogs on leads in two fields on the south side of the park near to south car park. The perimeter path is marked in green on the map attached to this post. This is to protect skylarks nesting on the ground in this area.
As a ground nesting bird, skylarks are extremely vulnerable to disturbance from dogs and people, and their nests are almost impossible to see until it's too late.
These small, iconic farmland birds are a ‘red list’ species on the "Birds of Conservation Concern 5 (BOCC5)" and we are committed to helping our resident skylarks to not only survive, but thrive here on the Waseley Hills.
We have placed signs to remind you what to do on all the gates and paths into this area, and we will be putting up signs with general information around the main visitors area by The Windmill Cafe.
For more information about BOCC5: https://www.bto.org/.../public.../birds-conservation-concern
Do let us know if you see or hear skylarks in flight over the hills (check out the video to hear their incredible flight song) and if you’re a keen photographer please share your photos with us - as always we would love to see them!
