⚓ Harvest Festival at HMS Forward ⚓
HMS Forward’s Ship’s Company joined the CMR’s Virtual Town Hall last night, followed by a Harvest Festival service led by Bish Dai, who travelled all the way from Leeds to join us!
Through prayers, hymns and reflection, we were reminded of the importance of gratitude, generosity and supporting those in our community who may be facing difficult times.
Bish Dai shared a thought-provoking reminder that over 500 million cans of baked beans are sold in the UK each year, with a can costing as little as 38p. Yet, that same 38p could make a real difference to someone in need.
Inspired by the message of giving, members of the Ship’s Company have donated food items in support of Birmingham Foodbank. The donated items are a small but meaningful way of showing that even the simplest acts of kindness can have a lasting impact. ❤️
We also officially welcomed our new Operations Officer to HMS Forward. To mark the occasion, our Ops Officer and Chief kindly provided pizza for the Ship’s Company to enjoy in the bar 🍕
Last night was a reminder that giving is about more than what we have to offer; it’s about the difference we can make to others. Whether through a food donation, a shared meal or simply taking the time to support one another, it’s the people who make our community.
