On Sunday HMS Forward paraded at the Service of Remembrance in Birmingham to remember the sacrifices that others made.

Last weekend, RAF Reserves, Maritime Reserves, Royal Marine Reserves and URNU students came together for training at Ex Northern Star 2025—sharpening skills and enhancing operational effectiveness.

5 from HMS Forward took on medical, weapons, house clearing, riot control, comms & command training—gaining invaluable experience alongside fellow reservists.⚓

Earlier this week we hosted the West Midland Reserve Forces & Cadets Association in aid of IWD, and celebrated the successes of women across the West Mids.

Congratulations to Surg Lt Cdr Fenton and Mid Breakspear who have recently passed out from Britannia Royal Naval College.

Members of HMS Forward commemorated Remembrance Sunday both in the UK and deployed overseas.

We recently celebrated FORWARD 40, marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the current HMS FORWARD.

We invited local dignitaries, family, friends and associations to mark the date, and FORWARD’s contribution to the local community.

We were honoured to host the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, the Mayors of Wolverhampton, Solihull and Dudley, and the West Midlands Deputy Lieutenant, showcasing the best of the RNR to them.

Along with the celebrations we showed our guests some of the equipment and facilities we use to deliver training in the unit, while our RMR, and URNU colleagues were on hand to explain the broader work that happens at HMS FORWARD.

Yesterday AB Zoe McGillivray-Hackett also reunited with a friend of HMS FORWARD, PO Instructor Sharon Burford (Sea Cadet Corps), while taking part in the Remembrance service at the National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire.

The Service of Remembrance was attended by thousands of people who paid their respects at the memorial commemorating the 16,000 service personnel killed whilst on duty since the end of the Second World War.

This weekend, HMS FORWARD Ship’s Company turned out to honour the fallen in ceremonies across the .

This morning a platoon from the Unit paraded through for the city’s annual Armistice commemoration.

HMS FORWARD was honoured to represent the Royal Naval Reserve at the Walsall FC Remembrance fixture yesterday.

Members of the Ship’s Company paid their respects amongst thousands of fans and laid a wreath prior to kick off.
