🎉 Today we're reflecting back on a fantastic Race Equality Youth Summit last week at Birmingham's

Hundreds of young people, voluntary sector colleagues, and industry professionals gathered to explore ways to tackle race equality in the West Midlands 💪

🗣️ We heard from a range of influential speakers during the event, including who inspired all of us with her story on growing up and forging a career with a disability. Now she has become one of the UK’s most influential activists!

🤝 We were also very pleased to welcome the new Richard Parker who spoke about the new West Midlands Youth Plan and his determination to make the West Midlands the 'best place to live, work, train and develop'.

🤩 A huge thank you to everyone who attended! We hope to see many of you again next year 😀

Today we talked to the region's leaders about our work at the West Midlands Combined Authority Board!

We shared an update on the Young Combined Authority's recent activity, including:

🚍 the transport survey
💚
⬆️ levelling up
👩🏿‍🎓 youth skills
💬 Board member training
💭 How we can make the YCA even better!

This included a big focus on the work we are doing with the to understand young people's experiences of getting around. The results from the survey will be shared with metro mayors to help improve public transport.
