At EBCF, we believe mental wellbeing is just as important as education, employment, and personal growth. Looking after your mental health is not a weakness; it is an essential part of building confidence, resilience, and a brighter future.

We are committed to supporting our learners through our pastoral and student services team, trained mental health staff, and by signposting to local charities and religious organisations where additional specialist support may be needed.

We also embed mental health and wellbeing across our delivery via our provider partnerships, helping learners access the right guidance, resources, and support during their journey with us and beyond.

This week, we encourage everyone to:

✔ Check in on loved ones
✔ Take breaks when needed
✔ Speak openly about mental wellbeing
✔ Ask for support without fear

No one should ever feel alone in their journey.

This week, our Sandwell learners from the Hair and Beauty Level 2 course explored how AI can be used in a real business setting.

As part of the ‘AI for Work’ optional unit, the focus was on a very practical idea, how to create a brand identity if you want to open your own salon. Learners used AI tools to design salon logos, and more importantly, they learnt how the right prompt, clear thinking, and proper planning can completely transform the quality of results you get.

We looked at:
- How to write effective prompts for logo design
- How planning and clarity improve outcomes
- How learners can think independently as future business owners

Both groups produced some fantastic logo designs. It was a brilliant example of how creativity and technology can work together. As a Level 2 course, a key focus is preparing learners for employment or self-employment, and this unit did exactly that. Learners are discovering how AI can support their independence, confidence, and future business ideas in a very real and practical way.

This is exactly what modern learning looks like, practical skills combined with AI skills to support real life opportunities.

If you live in Sandwell, you can also be part of our Hair and Beauty journey. Our next Level 1 course starts on Tuesday, 26th May 2026.

Location: Summerfield Community Centre, B18 4EJ.
Duration: 7 weeks.

What an incredible day for our Level 2 Hair and Beauty learners! Our tutor, Rehana, took them beauty product shopping as part of their course, and moments like these are exactly what make this industry so exciting to learn about. Seeing, touching, and comparing real products builds a level of knowledge and confidence that goes far beyond any classroom lesson.

The hair and beauty world is full of choices, and understanding those choices early on is a real game changer for their future.

If you are interested in being part of this amazing course, please contact us today. Both employed and unemployed individuals are welcome to apply.
