In September last year Birmingham City Council approved £3.9m capital funding to refurbish and improve the libraries, this includes Erdington library.



Erdington Library is currently closed due to health and safety issues in the building following water ingress which has had a significant impact on the building.

The library will remain closed due to health and safety issues and until capital refurbishments commences in the Summer, further details will be provided of the works at a later date, please check back on this page of the mobile library for further information and updates.

Whilst the library is closed the following is available:

Weekly mobile library van visits every Wednesday 12.30pm-2.30pm - starting Wednesday 25th March
And One Saturday per month 3.10pm-4.00pm - starting Saturday 11th April
Access to the community room at the library for collection and pick ups on a weekly basis.
Perry Common Library will now offer a full library service every Friday.

Great news for Erdington readers!
While we work with partners and contractors to get our permanent library doors open again, we are bringing the books to you. The mobile library is launching regular stops in Erdington to ensure you still have local access to your favorite reads and services.

Catch the mobile library at these times:

Weekly: Starting Wednesday, 25th March from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm.

Monthly (Every 4 weeks): Starting Saturday, 11th April from 3:10 pm – 4:00 pm.

Erdington Library is a vital community hub, and we are fully committed to reopening the building as quickly as possible. We truly appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you at the mobile stops in the meantime!
