🚨Get there if you can!

Join PCS outside Parliament on Budget Day to demand action on pay and the cost-of-living crisis.

Speakers: Fran Heathcote, Bev Laidlaw (Chair), with more speakers to be announced.

According to the TUC, the average UK household has paid an extra Β£13,961 on essential bills since 2021, including housing, energy and borrowing costs. Energy bills alone have risen by an average Β£2,644, while households with mortgages have paid an average Β£9,034 more.

After years of below-inflation pay awards, too many PCS members are still struggling to make ends meet. As the government sets out its budget plans, we're calling for fair pay, investment in public services and real support for working people.

PCS is willing to cover reasonable transport costs for members wishing to attend. Please contact [email protected] for assistance.

Bring your flags, banners and colleagues and join us in sending a clear message: workers need action, not more austerity.

Event Address
Old Palace Yard, opposite the Houses of Parliament, SW1P 3JY

Public transport is vital for many disabled and older people to be able to live and work independently and to sustain meaningful relationships with their family, friends and communities.

Too often, taking public transport can be a difficult, distressing and even humiliating experience.

Accessible transport enables disabled and older people to enjoy their rights on an equal basis with everyone else.

We have developed and published guiding principles to help transport policymakers, planners and operators understand:

- their equality and human rights obligations
- what they need to do to enable disabled and older people to enjoy their rights

Today we are highlighting guiding principle 1: Active involvement

Disabled and older people should be closely consulted and actively involved in decisions affecting the accessibility of services, including at the start of new projects and during reviews of existing services.

Evidence from older and disabled people should be used to inform assessments of the potential and actual impacts of transport policies and practices.

🚨 PCS FYLDE – HAVE YOU VOTED YET? 🚨

πŸ“© CHECK YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL INBOX!

πŸ—³οΈ WE NEED AT LEAST 50% OF MEMBERS TO VOTE!

Under current anti-trade union laws, our ballot must reach a 50% turnout threshold for industrial action to be legally authorised.

πŸ’₯ WHY DOES YOUR VOTE MATTER?

πŸ’· PAY – Fair pay that reflects the work we do.

🏒 JOBS – Protecting jobs and challenging cuts.

πŸ›‘οΈ TERMS & CONDITIONS – Defending our working rights.

πŸ’° PENSIONS – Protecting our future.

🀝 A STRONGER UNION – The more members who participate, the stronger our collective voice.

⚠️ Even if a majority vote YES, failing to reach the turnout threshold means we cannot legally take industrial action.

πŸ“© Check your personal email, including your junk and spam folders, for your voting instructions.

⏰ Voting closes 1 December 2026.

✊ DON’T LEAVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE – YOUR VOTE COUNTS!
