We're excited to share our latest report: Urgent Treatment Centres: Insights from the Community!

Between December 2025 and February 2026, Healthwatch Blackpool worked in partnership with FCMS (Fylde Coast Medical Services) to explore local people's awareness, access to, and experiences of Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast.

Thank you to everyone who completed our survey, took part in a focus group, or shared their experiences with us through 1-1 conversations. Your feedback has been invaluable, ensuring the voices of local people are heard.

Yesterday, Charlotte attended the community drop in at Blackpool FC Community Trust where she had the opportunity to speak with local residents about the support available through Healthwatch Blackpool at Empowerment.

It was fantastic to see organisations coming together in one place to provide local residents with advice, information, and support.

The cervical screening bus is visiting various locations within Blackpool. Cervical screening saves lives and this is your chance to get it done quickly and easily - no appointment needed, just drop-in!

📍Clinic locations and dates can be seen below (drop-in opening times 11.00am–4.00pm):

• Friday 17th July: Sainsbury’s Bispham, 80 Red Bank Road, Bispham FY2 9HH

• Tuesday 28th July: Tesco, Clifton Retail Park, Clifton Road, Blackpool FY4 4UJ

More dates have now been added across Lancashire and South Cumbria, making it easier than ever to get your screening done at a time and place that suits you. No appointment needed.

Cervical screening helps prevent cancer by detecting changes early, and only takes a few minutes.

This afternoon, Charlotte attended the Fylde Coast Health and Social Care Career Academy at Bickerstaffe House, where she spoke with health and social care students about the range of services provided by Empowerment. She also shared information about the important work carried out by Healthwatch Blackpool and Empowerment Charity in supporting local communities, tackling health inequalities and ensuring resident voices are heard.

Students had the opportunity to learn about potential career pathways within the sector, as well as volunteering opportunities. Thank you so much for having us.
