Beautiful signs of Autumn at the Tower today. We now have only one week left of our Summer season, as we close the house to visitors on Sunday 1st November. We’re open Wednesday to Sunday 11am to 4pm until next weekend so please call in and say hello one last time.
The grounds and the Woodland Cafe will remain open throughout the winter months and the Tower gift shop will stay open weekends until Christmas 🍁

The fair weather goddess was looking down on our beautiful bride and groom today, as we had exactly two hours of glorious sunshine in between downpours of rain. It was a pleasure to see Oliver and Carys become husband and wife at Turton Tower today. Congratulations to you both.

The weekend weather forecast is looking good so if you’re out and about around the Tower make sure you take a look at the Tower gift shop, it’s bursting with goodies made by our local crafts people 💕

Thank you so much to the Chetham’s Library in Manchester for hosting another fabulous Medieval Faire on Saturday 26th September.
Our volunteers had a wonderful time taking to visitors about Humphrey Chetham’s connection to Turton Tower. Although he never lived at the Tower he was the owner from 1627 and he allowed the previous owner, Alice Orrell, to live there until she died in 1647. George Chetham, Humphrey’s nephew, became the owner when Humphrey died in 1653.
We currently have some of his chained library books, that were bequeathed to St Anne’s Church, Chapeltown, on display in the house.
We’re already looking forward to attending the event next year 💕⚔️🛡️

What a fabulous afternoon we’ve had today. Claire and Scott celebrated their marriage ceremony with family and friends on what turned out to be an amazing sunny Saturday in September. Everything was was perfect for their special day. Congratulations and good luck for the future. 💕🥂🍰

Another day, another fantastic wedding. Congratulations to the beautiful couple, Lisa and Jason, who had their marriage ceremony at The Tower today. It was a lovely service followed by a big party at The Barlow in Edgworth, where they planned to dance the night away and celebrate in style with family and friends. We wish them both well and a very happy future together 💕🥂

Congratulations to the lovely Joan and Derek who were married here at The Tower today. It was an intimate gathering of close family and friends followed by a meal at a local country pub. We wish you so much love and happiness for the future. 💕

As we get closer to the end of the school summer holidays, here’s a reminder that we will be closed to visitors on Bank Holiday Monday 31st August and Wednesday 2nd September. We are getting the house ready for an exciting new instalment (the portrait below is a clue).
We will be open as normal on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August.
The Woodland Cafe and grounds are not affected and will be open as usual.

Calling all knights and peasants alike! 🏰 Our Medieval Faire is back with a full-day take over of Chetham's to bring us back to the middle ages. Marvel at historical reenactments and striking birds of prey, browse stalls from specialist vendors, and immerse yourself in medieval life ✨

📍Entry is free – simply show up at the gate! It will also be possible to book tours of the library on the day at a cost of £8.50 per person on a first come, first served basis.
