Domestic Abuse: Non-Fatal Strangulation - Thurs 10th December 10.00 to 11.30am Online.
Non-fatal strangulation is a way for perpetrators of domestic abuse to control and intimidate their victim. It is s standalone offence.
Non-fatal strangulation is a known way for perpetrators of domestic abuse to control and intimidate their victim. It is an insidious form of domestic abuse which recently became a standalone criminal offence in the Domestic Abuse Act 2021. Despite the strong link between non-fatal strangulation and domestic homicide, it can be difficult to identify due to a lack of visible injury.
It is vital that professionals understand non-fatal strangulation and the risk it poses.

Bystander Training - Thursday 19th November 1 to 4pm at Castle Hill Centre.
A workshop to support and enable professionals to deal with prejudice, hostility and inappropriate behaviours that can affect us all.
This is an informative workshop provided by www.communitiesinc.org.uk to addressing the barriers people have helping others when they witness harmful behaviours and attitudes in any environment. We know people experience hate, prejudice, hostility and inappropriate behaviours in many ways including through harassment, bullying or belittling behaviour. It can have devastating effects: eroding confidence, affecting performance and relationships at work and at home. Often people affected suffer in silence fearing they will not be believed or do not want to cause a fuss or draw attention to themselves. Hostile behaviours do not manifest overnight, and if interrupted through effective interventions we can stop the escalation.
This training will encourage everyone to play a role in contributing to tackling prejudice, however big or small. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bystander-training-tickets-1988467031419?aff=oddtdtcreator&_gl=1*fd01sb*_up*MQ..*_ga*Mjk2MDcxNjI3LjE3OTE5ODcwODA.*_ga_TQVES5V6SH*czE3OTE5ODcwNzkkbzEkZzEkdDE3OTE5ODk0NTckajQxJGwwJGgw&keep_tld=true
