That’s why we’re proud to have our own in-house trainer (Dale), helping our team develop through a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical skills and regular refresher training. 📚👐

💚 Macmillan Coffee Morning Success! 💚
Last Friday, we held our Macmillan Coffee Morning at Under My Wing Care and Support Ltd, and we're delighted to share that we raised £86 for Macmillan Cancer Support! 🎉☕🍰
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, donated, baked, bought cakes, and helped make the morning such a success. Every pound raised will help Macmillan continue their incredible work supporting people living with cancer and their families.
It was wonderful to see everyone come together over coffee, cakes, and good conversation for such an important cause. Community spirit like this is what makes events like these so special. 💚

❤️ Sometimes, a few simple words can mean so much.

We were incredibly touched to receive this beautiful message from a family we have had the privilege of supporting during such an important and emotional time.

Being described as a “people-first care company”, with humanity, kindness and happy times at our core, means more to us than we can put into words.

We had our monthly chair exercise class yesterday 🙌

Everyone throughly enjoyed themselves and more importantly they completed the exercises as best they could. Everyone said how much better they felt after doing it which was lovely to hear.

Thankyou to Lucy again for coming and we look forward to seeing you next month!

A special hello to you 💕

Today I wanted to share something very personal with everyone who follows Under My Wing Care and Support Ltd.

Many of you know that alongside running Under My Wing, I live with Myasthenia Gravis, a rare autoimmune condition that affects muscle strength and can make even the simplest tasks feel overwhelming. Living with a chronic illness whilst running a care business is not easy. There are days when I feel exhausted, weak, frustrated, and worried about what the future may hold. However, I have always believed in keeping going, finding strength where I can, and focusing on the people who make it all worthwhile.

This week marks a huge milestone in my journey. I became the first patient at Addenbrooke's Hospital to be screened for CAR T-cell therapy for Myasthenia Gravis. I have now officially had my cells harvested, and they are on their way to the USA where they will be modified as part of this pioneering treatment. My teams at Addenbrooke's are absolutely amazing and I couldn't be in better hands and I'm so grateful for every single one of them. They are all routing for me and constantly checking in with me as coming off my medications hasn't been easy at all but they are so supportive and encouraging me every step of the way, I'm truly blessed to have such an incredible team around me.

It feels surreal knowing that my cells are currently travelling across the Atlantic, but it also fills me with hope. Hope for my future, hope for others living with Myasthenia Gravis, and hope that this groundbreaking treatment could make a real difference to people's lives.

I couldn't do any of this without the incredible people around me. Under My Wing has always been a family-run business. My husband Dale has been by my side every step of the way, supporting both me and running the business through the good days and the difficult ones. Our daughter now works alongside us too, making Under My Wing even more of a family effort, and I couldn't be prouder.

I also want to thank our amazing team — our Blue Brigade 💙. You have supported me through some very challenging times, stepped up when I've needed help, and continued to provide outstanding care to the people who depend on us. Your dedication, compassion, and teamwork never go unnoticed. You are the heart of Under My Wing, and I am so grateful for every single one of you.

There is still a long journey ahead, and no guarantees, but today I am choosing hope. Thank you to everyone who has followed my journey, supported our family, and supported our business.

My cells are now on their way to the USA, and the next chapter begins.

🎨💙 Portraits, Paints & Plenty of Smiles! 💙🎨

Our day centre clients recently had great fun painting portraits of one another, and the results were fantastic! 😊 As you can see, everyone put their own unique style and creativity into their artwork, making for lots of laughter, conversation, and shared memories along the way.

Activities like this are about so much more than painting. Social activities help to build confidence, encourage communication, support emotional wellbeing, and provide valuable opportunities for friendships to grow. Staying socially active can have a hugely positive impact on mental health, cognitive wellbeing, and overall quality of life.

At Under My Wing Care and Support Ltd, we are passionate about creating a welcoming environment where people can connect, learn new skills, express themselves creatively, and most importantly, enjoy themselves.
