Wethersfield crew is extremely proud to have raised a total of £597 for the Fire Fighters Charity in 2025 across our fundraising events for the year.

Thank you for all those that came along to our open day and car wash and so generously donated towards an excellent cause.

We hope to do the same again in 2026!

Crew levelling up ⬆️

🚨 Last week Gary and Colin, better known within the service as the ‘Twins’ successfully completed their blue-light response driving and can now drive the appliance to emergencies.

Massive congratulations from the whole crew at Wethersfield, a course like this takes a lot of skill and determination and no doubt we speak on behalf of the community, thank you for stepping up into this role to ensure we are as prepared as ever for when the call comes in!

🚒 Appliance upgrade!

Recently, we recieved a newer model fire engine at Wethersfield fire station, showcasing some of the latest technology in modern-day fire fighting!

Before Wethersfield, our new appliance was based at Harlow Central fire station where it protected Harlow and the surrounding communities for many years.

Our old pump will be greatly missed by the crew, having served the community of Wethersfield for the last 10 years is now moving into the services fleet of spare appliances.

Every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm we attend a drill night 🚒

This is so we can keep practicing vital skills and different scenarios needed for the job.

We're looking for more people to join our team - no firefighting experience is required!

If you live or work within 5 minutes of the fire station, you could be paid to protect your community as an on-call firefighter.

🚒 Hello from your crew at Wethersfield (minus one)!

We're all on-call firefighters who live or work within 5 minutes of the fire station and are available to respond when there is an incident.

We're looking for more people to join our team to help protect our community.

Anyone can be an on-call firefighter as long as:
✅You’re over 18-years-old
✅You live or work within 5 minutes of an on-call fire station
✅You have a good all round level of fitness
✅Your eyesight meets our requirements

Improving daytime fire engine availability | Essex County Fire and Rescue Service Keeping your home safe from fire is an important part of living safe and well. That’s why we offer free Home Safety Visits to all residents across Essex.

Wethersfield fire station is proudly part of the growing number of Defibrillators within local communities, a simple yet effective piece of life saving equipment in the event of a Cardiac arrest.

We hope you never have to use it, however you can find it at the front of Wethersfield fire station. The 999 operator will provide you with a code to unlock the box. Open the defibrillator inside and verbal instructions will be given for safe and effective use.

This equipment was donated by a Firefighter from Waltham Abbey fire station - thank you Nick for your great work!
