🐿️🚓 Blaby Squirrel Scouts Visit 🚓🐿️

PCSO Vicki had a lovely time visiting the Blaby Squirrel Scouts recently.

It was fantastic to meet so many enthusiastic young people who were incredibly inquisitive about the work we do in policing. You all showed a great interest, asked some brilliant questions, and were keen to learn more about how we help keep our communities safe.

The highlight of the evening was definitely getting to see the police car up close! 🚔

A big thank you to all the Scouts for making me feel so welcome, and to the leaders for inviting me along to join in with your meeting.

I hope to see you all again soon, PCSO Vicki 6622

🙂 Hello

👮 Lots to tell you… happy reading!

🔴 COUNTESTHORPE

➡️ I had the pleasure of meeting with the EMH Team on a ‘Patch Walk’ around Countesthorpe on Thursday 15 October 2026. For those that answered the door, it was lovely to have met you, and I hope you enjoyed your chocolates, courtesy of EMH. A ‘Patch Walk’ is where officers talk to people on areas to see how we can support you, to identify any issues of safety concerns or any anti-social behaviour.

➡️ Had a report of a vehicle that had been sitting in one spot for over a couple of weeks. On attendance on that day, the vehicle had gone.

🔴 BRAUNSTONE TOWN & THORPE ASTLEY

➡️ Report received of two electric charger cables stolen from a business carpark.

➡️ Professional company reporting a business has been broken into and there had been a lot of damage to the interior of it, as a result of the break. Enquiries are ongoing.

➡️ Report received of four youths, wearing balaclavas stealing items from a shop. Shop-keepers, please be aware of this and if the theft is happening there and then, please report into us on 999, and online if they have left.

➡️ I was out in the Meridian yesterday on patrol, talking to some of you and thank you for the coffee. ☕ It was nice to have met you.

Speak soon.

Yesterday evening, I was back out on patrol for another Tuesday late shift, this time with SC Tom, after crewing up with SC Leanna last week.

As soon as we arrived and switched on our radios, we were deployed to an emergency call reporting a robbery just a stone’s throw from the station in Braunstone Town. Sadly, a male had been threatened while carrying out fast food deliveries, resulting in his motorbike being stolen.

While out on foot searching the area, I spotted an electric bike with two people matching the suspects’ descriptions coming hurtling towards me down a very dark alley. They suddenly turned around and sped off in the opposite direction! Despite giving chase on foot, battery power won this race. 🔋

We carried out CCTV enquiries, and the investigation will continue to be progressed by our CID team. The local beat team have also been made aware to support ongoing patrols in the area.

For the rest of the shift, we headed out on our regular Tuesday patrols, focusing on deterring and dealing with vehicle related anti social behaviour, including car cruising.

⚠️More than 30 people have lost their lives on our roads this year.

That's why, from 17th October, Leicestershire Police safety camera vans will be carrying out seatbelt monitoring as part of a pilot road safety project.

Failing to wear a seatbelt is one of the Fatal Five behaviours most likely to result in death or serious injury. During the pilot, motorists found not wearing a seatbelt will receive a warning letter explaining the dangers.

A seatbelt is your best protection in a collision. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is buckled up before every journey.

More information: https://leicspolice.link/BGwGv

Seatbelts are there for a reason. Fail to belt up and you’re twice as likely to die in an accident.

Hi all,

🚔 Visible patrols around McDonalds and fosse park re the Anti-social behaviour and dangerous driving.

👮‍♂️ The beat team along with PCSO Rachel from our Economic crime unit also held a drop-in session inside McDonald’s for hate crime awareness week and for advice on fraud and scams, leaflets and advice given out to customers and staff.

🐮 The team have also been dealing with ongoing Anti-social behaviour at the Farm in Lubbesthorpe, we have some clear images of the youths breaking into the farm and we will try and identify those involved and pay them a visit. We have also added this area to our patrol hotspot.

🏠 The team have also been dealing with ongoing neighbour disputes across the beat and have been working with partner agencies to discuss support and to try and resolve the issues raised.

Stay safe

🚴‍♂️⚡ E-Bike Patrols in Our Community ⚡🚴‍♂️

Yesterday, the Beat Team were out on patrol in Braunstone Town and Thorpe Astley in response to concerns raised by local residents regarding the use of e-bikes within the area.

📢 We would like to remind everyone that not all e-bikes are legal to use on public roads and pathways. To be classed as a legal electrically assisted pedal cycle (EAPC), an e-bike must comply with specific regulations. Bikes that have been modified, can be ridden without pedalling, or exceed the legal power and speed limits may be classed as motor vehicles.

🚔 Riders of illegal e-bikes can expect to be stopped by police and may face enforcement action, including seizure of the bike and prosecution where appropriate.

⛔ We also want to remind riders that if a police officer requires them to stop, they must do so. Failing to stop when directed by police is an offence and may result in further action being taken. Where necessary, lawful and proportionate, officers have powers to use reasonable force to prevent offences and bring incidents safely to a conclusion.

🤝 Thank you to everyone who continues to report concerns to us. The information you provide helps us identify issues that matter most to our community and allows us to take positive action.

🦢 Young Swan Rescued on Lutterworth Road 🦢

This morning, we received reports of a young swan close to the roadside on Lutterworth Road, causing concern for its safety.

Officers attended the location and were pleased to find the youngster safe and well. The swan has since been carefully collected and taken to a local wildlife centre where it can receive the care and support it needs.

A big thank you to the members of the public who reported the incident and helped ensure the swan received assistance quickly. Your vigilance makes a real difference in helping us protect both wildlife and road users.

We're happy to report that this story has a positive ending, and we wish our feathered friend a speedy recovery! 🦢💙
