Cllr Owain Clatworthy says we're "obsessed" with him.

Here's what Deputy Leader Cllr Jane Gebbie actually told Full Council πŸ‘‡

πŸ“© Hundreds of emails from residents concerned about his public statements and conduct
✍️ A petition for his removal with more than 2,000 signatures
πŸ§’ Serious questions about his place on the committee responsible for children in the council's care

That isn't obsession. That's listening to residents, and doing the job we were elected to do.

Jane has called on Welsh Government to introduce a fair, proportionate and properly safeguarded recall mechanism for councillors in Wales, because accountability doesn't end at the ballot box.

And if anyone thinks a few videos will intimidate us into silence, they've misunderstood why we're here.

Today marks 60 years since the Aberfan disaster.

On 21 October 1966, 144 lives were lost, including 116 children, when a coal waste tip collapsed onto the village of Aberfan.

Six decades on, we remember those who died, the families whose lives were changed forever, and a community that has carried the weight of that tragedy ever since.

We will never forget Aberfan.

🌞 Beautiful morning to be out talking to people on the doorsteps in Pyle.

We had lots of positive feedback including about our local schools and the dropped kerb improvements taking place here.

Thanks to residents who raised the issue of potholes on Pyle Inn Way - Jane and I have reported that today.

βœ… Good news for Bridgend's children with additional learning needs.

Welsh Labour Senedd Members held the Plaid Cymru Government to account and pushed them from Β£40m to Β£60m extra for ALN across Wales. That means around Β£3m for Bridgend, going straight into our schools and support services.

It's welcome news, but it's not the end solution. There's still lots more work to do to make sure every child in Bridgend gets the support they need and deserve.

Bridgend Labour will keep pushing. πŸ’ͺ

🚲 Let's get the Garw Valley Cycle Path reopened!

Cllr Martyn Jones brought a motion to Council with his fellow Garw Valley Labour councillors, Cllr Heather Griffiths and Cllr Maxine Lewis, and the Labour Group. 🌹

🚧 2.5km between Llangeinor and Pontycymmer has been closed by Network Rail, cutting off a key route for residents and visitors.

🀝 Labour's motion calls on the UK Government, Welsh Government, The Crown Estate and Network Rail to work with the council to reopen it.

βœ… The motion passed.
❌ But four Bridgend County Independents councillors abstained: Freya Bletsoe, Steven Bletsoe, Mark John and Steven Easterbrook.

When it mattered, they didn't back the Garw Valley. 🀷

Labour will keep pushing until the path is open again. πŸ’ͺ
