As part of the shared space scheme on Emersons Green lane i have started to cut back the overgrowth and bramble so there is enough space for pedestrians to step aside from oncoming traffic.
I shall be making my way along here over the next week or so.

At this time of year as the weather changes, inevitably tree branches will fall and cause hazards to all, so I removed a fallen branch at Howsmoor lane in Lyde Green this morning. I then did my best to tidy up the path running alongside Blackhorse Primary school, unfortunately the winds will blow the leaves and apples back but it is tidier for now.

A variety of jobs today which were all satisfying to complete. Firstly I made my way to Howsmoor Lane and took back any encroaching bramble, secondly I made my way to Old Lane and tidied up a low hanging hedge and last but not least I made my way to the lane that runs from Colliers Break towards Mangotsfield Primary school and cut back more bramble and overgrowth.

Another day, another lane. This time I made my way to the path that runs from opposite Mangotsfield primary school through to Emersons Green Common.

I took back the width of the path and cut back any intruding bramble and stingers and other foliage.

I have made my way onto Bishops Rd and up to Pinkers Mead this morning.
Clearing around two alcoves that had become overgrown and generally tidying the area and then giving the footpath that runs through Pinkers Mead a spruce up before the autumn sets in.

This morning I have tidied up a couple of paths around Colliers Break after a couple of members of the public mentioned they needed attention. Hopefully this makes it easier for the school run and everyone to use.

Discovering areas that have been neglected and making them usable again is a satisfying part of the role of a community caretaker.
So today I cleared a path in Cynder Way that had become overgrown and the public had to walk in the road.
Cutting back the hedge and scraping back the moss was harder than I thought but was rewarding in the end.

Due to how well liked the work I did on the path from Badminton Rd through to Leap Valley last week I thought I would continue the rest of the path today.

Clearing soil that had built over the years along with the bramble, bracken and other foliage I have managed to widen the path to make it a lot easier to walk along and more accessible for everyone to enjoy.

Yet another part of our summer maintenance is maintaining areas of Rodway common and the pond at Vinney Green. Keeping grass areas strimmed so that it makes them presentable and pleasant for locals and all visitors to the area.

One part of our summer maintenance schedule is strimming around the bollards, bench and bins at Emersons Green common so thats what I did today. The recent rain has brought a bit of life into the area and given the grass fresh new growth.
