This aerial shot of Underfall Yard and the western end of the harbour dates all the way back to the 1930s, and yet our famous chimney and engine house are as recognisable as ever.

Speaking of looking back, it's that time of year again. This Sunday, the clocks go back one hour, which means an extra hour in bed and an earlier sunrise. The Yard will still be open from 9am for people to walk through, enjoy the Victorian architecture, and learn more about our site in our Visitor Centre.

If you have booked a tour with us on Sunday, make sure the change of clocks doesn't catch you out - we will be starting at 11am. There are still a few places left on our final public tour of 2026, so book today!

We are offering select afternoons at Underfall Yard for your Christmas Yard Party. Our Visitor Centre and waterside terrace are all yours from 2pm - 7pm, with the choice of add-ons including a Christmas buffet menu, a drink token service, and use of our PA system for speeches and tunes. All you have to do is pick a date, add your extras, and pay all in one form!

By having your event with us, you are directly supporting our charitable efforts in preserving our historic site and the maritime industries that have kept Bristol afloat.

Last year, the wooden motor cruiser 'Morwen' was sold by the Yard to help us raise a significant amount of funds for the rebuild of the workshops. You can see Win, our Site and Maintenance Coordinator, on board celebrating the successful sale.

Recently, we were sent some amazing pictures from her buyer. She is enjoying her new home near the Norfolk Broads along with a group of wooden boat enthusiasts. It is great to see her doing well!

With the Yard's famous Leason currently on the slipway, our outdoor seating area at Underfall Cafe has an even better view of the Floating Harbour!

A splash of red and orange has hit our slipway this week! The Bristol Port Company's tug and dredging vessel 'Gordano' has travelled all the way from Avonmouth for some essential maintenance work.

The Yard is still in awe of the amazing weekend we had during the Bristol Sea Shanty Shout!

Dozens of shanty singers performed to thousands of visitors, and over £5,000 was raised for a range of charities across the harbourside.

Thanks to you and your generous donations, the Somerset Prostate Support Association will be able to host a prostate cancer awareness and testing event in Bristol early next year. Over 250 men will be able to have a free cancer check, which can lead to an early diagnosis.

Phil Gibson of High and Dry adds: “It is pretty safe to say that the Shanty Shout will save lives. And we did that while about 2200 people - visitors and performers- had a great time. I call that a result!”

We can’t wait to do it all over again!

Our Donate a Slate campaign has raised £2350 - that is around 5 slates a day since we started our campaign back in August.

There has been so much demand from people wanting to visit the boatyard and sign a slate that we have decided to extend the deadline to October 31st! You now have a whole extra month to make your mark at Underfall Yard and be a permanent part of our history for only £10.
