🚜 Standing up for Bromsgrove's Farmers 🌽

Lib Dem Councillor Sam Evans' motion to demand a better deal for our farmers after a failed rollout of the Sustainable Farming Incentive has received the backing of Labour, Conservative and Independent Councillors in Bromsgrove.

As a result, the Council will now write to Government to ask for more support for Bromsgrove's farmers.

Farmers play an essential part of life in Bromsgrove and have been let down over the years with a botched Brexit withdrawal from the Common Agricultural Policy, IHT changes and extreme weather from climate change.

Which of the 4 options do you think Reform UK HQ took with the councillors whose horrendous comments were exposed by the ITV undercover reporting?

Feel like we need to remind our MP that BREP was something he pushed for and celebrated when we got the money.

Plus he is telling everyone to oppose every planning application that comes in, what he is not telling you is this would cost the council hundreds of thousands of pounds at least if the planning inspectorate over-turned the decision.

Money the council could be spending on local playgrounds, our High Street and improving our green spaces.

And of course they have a strong reason to, the Conservatives have left us without a local plan and Labour have watered down the protection for green belt.

He should be apologising for supporting BREP when residents were shouting about how bad these plans are, but no he is just blaming a council that his Conservative colleagues no longer run.

Burnham is risking a repeat of the Winter Fuel Payment fiasco.

Families struggling with a broken social care system cannot wait until after another election, and it can’t be funded from the pockets of our poorest pensioners.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the tragic incident that occurred at the junction of the A38 and New Road yesterday.

Our thoughts go out to the cyclist, their family, friends and those who witnessed the incident.

Since yesterday afternoon our councillors have been working to understand what has occurred and we must allow the the police investigation to establish all the facts.

We are in constant contact with senior officers at Worcestershire County Council and are grateful to the cabinet member for highways for coming to the area today and meeting with the divisional councillor.

The Liberal Democrats Party Conference has passed a new plan to improve maternity care as 65% of maternity units are simply not safe to give birth in.

The Government cannot continue to turn a blind eye to this national safety scandal. Every mother deserves safe, compassionate, and fully supported care when bringing a child into the world.

Last year the NHS paid out more than £1.3bn in compensation for poor maternity care, more than double what the party is proposing in its plans.
